4/8/14 RMB Listening
Dear Rita Mae Brown,
Today Teddy wrote to me “Thank you for being in
my life. Just being there to listen makes a difference.” As I struggle with
boys, my trio of nephews, who give in to the dark side, stealing, lying and
being disrespectful, I wonder how we can help them and what it is we are not
hearing.
As a worldwide community of souls that continue
to injure one another or ignore suffering, is our behavior a cry for help? Could
the answer be as simple as listening to one another? How big of a difference
would it make and how little of an effort would it take?
It’s a thought.
