11-14-13 RMB Word Magic
Dear Rita Mae Brown,
On this Thursday, life is good. My
trio of nephews and I picked up potato chips, pizza and eggnog on the way
home. It is all for the boys, but I will partake of a taste and a sip or two. We
are blessed with carbs and sweet holiday nectar aplenty.
A friend is catering a movie set for
another friend. Both are part of our Writers Circle. We are inspiring one
another and making dreams realities, writing for films and books, bringing
words to life. I have placed the ending of America book 2 in its place. There
is much fleshing out to do. At 94 pages it can hardly be called a book, but it
is well on its way.
My enlightened editor friend, Jennifer
Silva Redmond, the one working words into films, has shared this quote with us.
“You
might not write well every day, but you can always edit a bad page. You can’t
edit a blank page.” ~ Jodi
Picoult
Thank you Jodi.
Words are magical in their ability to
inspire, enlighten and brighten one’s spirit. When faced with uncooperative computer
systems at work, systems which are supposed to connect companies, transmitting
orders and invoices, the person in management at the other company surprised us
with her words. As we worked through the glitches, she wrote:
“Keep me posted in case we need to use
a magic spell and some pixie dust :)”
We brought a problem to her attention
and she greeted it with offers of magic and pixie dust. She goes by SAM,
actually S.A.M. Buchanan. I don’t know what the initials stand for, but I like
the name as it is. They are three letters that represent someone able to see
beyond problems and believe in the magic of our ability to overcome any
challenge. That belief made her words themselves magical, lifting our spirits
above the frustration of the day.
Thank you SAM
Sharing my pixie dust with you,
Loraine
